ARJAY SMITH
(Screenwriter/Actor)

Going from a “child actor” to an “adult actor” can be a circus ride...but luckily things worked out for actor Arjay Smith. The Southern California native began his professional acting career in 1997 when he garnered the lead role in Nickelodeon's "The Journey of Allen Strange", and in 2000 recurred as Cadet Finley on FOX's "Malcolm in the Middle".

Directly following his high-school graduation, Arjay landed his first feature film role alongside Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal and Emmy Rossum in the blockbuster hit, "The Day After Tomorrow". In 2012, Smith began a three-season run as a series regular on TNT's "Perception" starring Eric McCormack, Rachel Leigh Cook, Kelly Rowan and LeVar Burton. After the series run, Arjay would go on to play recurring characters on TNT's "Major Crimes", FX's "Sons of Anarchy", TBS’ “The Guest Book” and currently as James Murray on ABC’s “The Rookie”.

For many years, Smith has been a champion for many organizations including the “Braille Institute”, “Kids 4 Kids” and “Revlon Run/Walk for Women”. He was a board member of “The KIS Foundation” (founded by KiKi Shepard), which brings awareness to Sickle Cell.

Since the beginning of his career, Arjay has been blessed with an immense amount of support from his family and friends. That support extended in 2015 when he happily married Director/Producer, Brittany Scott Smith. The power couple have a three-year-old son, a two-year-old daughter, and reside in New York City. Smith continues to seek new arenas where he can offer his inspiration and creative services. In 2022 he decided to officially begin his writing career, and signed with Entertainment Lab's literary division.
