STEPHEN VAGG

Stephen Vagg is the Co-Executive Producer on Rock Island Mysteries, a 20-episode adventure series for Nickelodeon in Australia.

For over three years, Stephen was a Supervising Producer on the internationally-screened serial drama Neighbours for FremantleMedia, supervising the writing department and plotting over one thousand thirty-minute episodes. Prior to that, he was a Co-Producer, writer and Story Editor for several years on the internationally-screened serial drama Home and Away.

Stephen wrote and co-produced the feature films Jucy and All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane - nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Australian Film Institute Award (Australia's Oscars).

He won an Australian Writer's Guild Award for his Neighbours script Ep 6857, the first time the show had won in that category in ten years.

Stephen is the author of Rod Taylor: An Aussie in LA, a biography of Australian actor, Rod Taylor (The Time Machine, The Birds), which was turned into the feature film documentary, Rod Taylor: Pulling No Punches, in which Stephen appeared as an interviewee. He has also worked as a freelance script editor, researcher and story consultant, and is the author of several plays which have been performed around the world, including the award-winning Friday Night Drinks.

Stephen is an internationally recognized film historian (particularly on British, Hollywood and Australian cinema), who has published a number of peer-reviewed articles on film history and has recorded several audio commentaries.

Stephen used to work as a lawyer (Property and Corporate Law), as a volunteer (Media Law advice), has had a one-year stint at the Prosecutor’s office and has also taught law at University.
