SETH CUNNINGHAM
(DIRECTOR)
Seth Cunningham is an emergent director & writer who has made a name for himself within the new media space. A majority of his filmography is in microdramas/“verticals”. His shows have garnered over a billion views and helped cement multiple studios like Reelshort, Bytedance, and Peacock as powerhouses within the industry. He has also worked in the unscripted space on both true-crime documentary and Reality TV shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race.
American-born and internationally raised, Seth spent his formative years in the Caribbean, primarily Trinidad & Tobago, before returning to the US with family roots in the Deep South. This unique upbringing drives his passion for stories that explore the immigrant and expat experience and highlight underrepresented regions.
An alumnus of the Savannah College of Art and Design (BFA in Film & TV, Minor in Dramatic Writing) and Joan Rater’s Personal Writer’s Room Master Class, Seth combines structured craft with a global perspective. Looking ahead, he aims to direct and showrun for Television while continuing to helm features, microdramas, and international collaborations. He is particularly enthusiastic about the new wave of video game and book adaptations, with several projects currently in development.
Outside of the director's chair, Seth's eclectic life experiences deeply inform his creative work. Having held jobs as everything from a janitor and bartender to an assembly line worker and shoe salesman, he brings a grounded, real-world perspective to his storytelling. His passion for filmmaking began in middle school, directing and releasing cheesy horror and action movies on his own YouTube channel. A big recreational adventurer, diver, rock climber, and avid gamer, Seth is drawn to stories involving Lovecraftian terror, dinosaur lore, science, theology, high-seas pirate adventures, and historical fiction.
